The flow of migrants is so large that the Mediterranean countries have asked the rest of Europe for help. But Norwegian PM, Erna Solberg says that Norway will not accept any of them.
– We will accept quota refugees. But remember that many of those coming over the Mediterranean now are not persecuted under the conditions required for asylum or quota refugees. There is a large influx of people who just want a better future in Europe. Many are from countries where there is no war and conflict, says Solberg.
– It is not natural to say that the exact group of migrants that comes now qualify to stay in any European country at all, the Prime Minister said.
On Monday the government announced that Norway will send a ship to the Mediterranean. The vessel will be in place by August 1st.
