Elijah (R) was stabbed and disembowelled in a street attack, which was caught on CCTV

Elijah Dornelly was fatally stabbed in Walthamstow High Street but still managed to run into a nearby cafe, with his intestines spilling out of his stomach, the Old Bailey was told.

The victim, from nearby Higham Hill, east London, suffered massive blood loss and was pronounced dead in the early hours of the morning.

Prosecutor Jonathan Rees QC told jurors the stabbing on the evening of May 7 was caught on CCTV footage, which would be played in the trial of the two alleged killers.

Ezra Abeka-Soares, of Caxton Road, Southall, Middlesex, and Morgan Mockford, of Randolf Road, Walthamstow, both 18, deny murder.

Abeka-Soares also denies possessing a knife.

Mr Rees said: “The allegation is that just before 11.30pm on Sunday, May 7, in Walthamstow High Street, Elijah Dornelly and a friend were ambushed by these defendants, both of whom were armed with knives.

“Elijah Dornelly’s friend managed to escape and run away, but Elijah Dornelly was not so fortunate.

“Whilst he managed to dodge the first blow from Ezra Abeka-Soares, he was unable to avoid a lunge from Morgan Mockford who stabbed him, once, to the gut.

“The knife entered his belly and cut the aorta, the main artery in the body, causing massive and fatal blood loss. The whole attack was recorded on CCTV.

“Despite being fatally wounded, Elijah Dornelly ran off and made his way to the rear entrance of a shisha cafe called Arabian Nights.

“He ran inside and subsequently collapsed. His intestines were spilling out of his belly.”

The prosecutor said both defendants accepted being present but deny acting together to murder Elijah.
